3 Inches Gap Cable

Customers has been asking for grille that is more “invisible”, and they don’t mind for lesser “safety”.

Ah ha!

KLIG came out with safety grille that offers wider gap between two adjacent cables. Wider gap means lesser cables for the whole structure.

Definitely the grille will look more invisible. Safety wise, it is for adults who have safety awareness but looking for extra peace of mind to protect themselves!

Wider gap is aesthetically nicer, but do mind that 3 inches gap safety grille can’t really stop pigeons from building nest in your house!

It is also not suitable to protect smaller pets from danger.

Perhaps, it is just nice to prevent your cloths from flying off your balcony during windy days!

What is a Casement or Openable Invisible Grill?

Insects, debris, and even small animals can enter your home through open spaces around doors and windows. An openable invisible grill, also called an openable safety grill, is a great way to keep your home safe from unwanted guests while still allowing fresh air to circulate.

This blog post will discuss what casement or openable invisible grilles are, how they work, and some of their benefits.

What is An Invisible Grill?

An invisible grill is a type of window that has a grill or mesh installed in the window frame. The primary purpose of this grill is to allow air to circulate while keeping insects and other debris out.

An invisible grill can also function as a security grill, balcony safety grill, or insect screen grill. They are made with either aluminum or stainless steel and can be powder-coated to match the color of your window frame.

How Do Invisible Grills Work?

Invisible grills are a type of window grill installed in the window frame rather than being mounted on the outside of the window.

There are two main methods for installing invisible grilles: brackets or screws. Brackets are the most popular method as they are less obtrusive and allow for easy removal and re-installation if necessary.

Screws are more permanent but can be difficult to remove if you decide to change your window grille later.

Once the grill is in place, it is secured using either magnets or screws, depending on the type of grill you have chosen. The main benefit of invisible grilles is that they are unobtrusive and do not detract from the aesthetics of your home.

Types of Invisible Grills

There are two main types of invisible grills: casement and awning.

Casement grilles are designed for windows that open outward. They are attached to the window frame using brackets or screws and can be opened for ventilation.

Awning grilles are designed for windows that open inward. They are hinged at the top of the window and extend outward. Awning grilles are a good option for windows that are difficult to reach.

Advantages of Casement Invisible Grills

Unlike traditional grilles, invisible casement grills have a lot of benefits. Some of these benefits include:

Increased security

Casement grilles are designed to provide extra security for your home. They can be locked in place, making it difficult for intruders to enter your home. In addition, the grill is made of durable materials that are difficult to cut through.

Improved airflow

Casement grilles allow for improved airflow in your home. The grill allows air to circulate while keeping insects and other debris out. This can help to keep your home cool during the summer months. Plus, it can help to reduce your energy costs.

Reduced noise pollution

Casement grilles can also help to reduce noise pollution in your home. The grill acts as a barrier, absorbing sound and preventing it from entering your home. This is especially beneficial if you live in a busy city or near an airport.

Improved safety

Openable Invisible Grilles also offer improved safety for your home. The grill can help prevent children and pets from falling out of the window. In addition, the grill can act as a barrier in the event of a fire, preventing smoke and flames from entering your home.

Aesthetically pleasing

Since they are in the window frame, casement grilles are not visible from the outside of your home. This makes them a more aesthetically pleasing option than traditional grilles.

On the other hand, a traditional grill is installed on the exterior of your home and is visible from the street. This can make your home look like it has bars on the windows, which can be unattractive.

If you are looking for a more aesthetically pleasing option for your window grilles, casement grilles are suitable.

Casement grilles offer many benefits over traditional grilles, making them a good choice for your home. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing, but they also provide other benefits such as increased security and improved airflow. If you’re in the market for window grilles, consider casement grilles for your home. You can find all this as well as the best safety grill Malaysia at KLIG. Contact us today for more information.

Tips for Child Safety: Choosing the Right Safety Grille

Are you in the market to install a safety grille for your home? Well, that is a wise choice because when it comes to safety grilles, one factor that’s often missed is child safety. Will the grille keep your child safe? Could they squeeze through it and injure themselves in the process?

Selecting the right safety grille is key as they can be a useful and effective way of keeping your children safe within the confines of your home.

There are many different types of safety grills that can be used in a home or apartment to keep children safe. The most popular type is the invisible grill which is completely hidden from view and looks like a regular window.

In this article, you will learn the importance of choosing the right safety grill along with some useful tips to choose the right safety grill Malaysia to ensure your child’s safety.

Importance of Choosing the Right Safety Grille

The main purpose of installing a safety grille at home is to provide a safe and secure environment for your loved ones. It also works to prevent unwanted mishaps from happening while preventing crime in this modern world. Here’s why you must choose the right safety grille.

  1. Gives you peace of mind

When you live in a high-rise building like a condominium or apartment with your family, your first and foremost concern would be to ensure that your child doesn’t put themselves in danger, especially if you have a balcony.

This is why you should choose the right safety grille and balcony safety grill and get them installed accordingly. Consequently, this gives you peace of mind when you’re away from home for work or other matters that require you to leave your child at home.

  1. Ensures your home’s hygiene

When you have birds flying around your apartment complex, just know that they tend to perch on balconies and hover around to make your home their home. In such instances, they will disperse their feathers while making a mess on your balcony.

This includes spreading bacteria and diseases through their droppings. Which is why you should choose the right safety grille to install on your balcony to prevent the birds from making a nest on your balcony.

3 Things to Consider When Choosing a Safety Grille

Safety grilles come in various designs and styles, so it is important to consider some things before installing one. Some considerations are:

  1. No dangerous materials used

When choosing a safety grille for your home, you need to consider the grille’s material. An invisible grille, for instance, is constructed from 316L stainless steel and installed in a way that maximises its strength.

This means it will not rust or corrode over time. However, for added safety and to prevent your child from licking the grille, it is coated with nylon or NanoTetra coating.

  1. The child cannot slip through the grilles

When it comes to installing the safety grilles, it’s important to consider the gap between them. A smaller gap is generally safer but this would obstruct the outdoor view of your surroundings.

With KLIG’s invisible grilles, you need not worry about your outdoor view because the cables are installed with a gap of 2 inches instead of the regular 3-4 inches. This is to prevent your child from slipping through the grilles.

  1. Fire and abrasion-resistant

Most grilles are constructed from solid materials such as aluminium, wrought iron, or steel. While aluminium and wrought iron are generally fire-resistant, they are not resistant to wear and tear, especially when exposed to various weather conditions.

An invisible grille, on the other hand, is constructed from 316L stainless steel, which is commonly used in construction and marine projects. This makes the grille highly resistant to fire and abrasion.

Get The Right Safety Grille For Your Child

So there you have it; the importance of choosing the right safety grille to ensure your children’s safety as well as a few tips for making the right choice. Remember that for the safety of your child, it’s good to have the right safety grille installed but most importantly, it’s installed properly.

Types of Window Grille That You Might Miss Out

Window grilles are a great addition to any home. They provide privacy and security while also adding a touch of style to your home. Not only do they help to keep thieves and intruders out, but they can also help to prevent accidental falls.

This is crucial especially if you live in a high-rise building and have young children and/or elderly people at home.

In this article, we will discuss the most common types of window grilles available in Malaysia along with the benefits of installing window grilles, especially in high-rise buildings.

Types of Window Grilles

Window grilles are an important part of a home’s façade and they can be used in many different ways. They can also be made from several different materials including stainless steel, mild steel, aluminium, and iron.

These materials tend to have high durability but are usually more prone to corrosion. As such, you should continue reading to learn about the different types of materials for your window grilles.

Stainless steel grilles

A grille that is made from stainless steel is exceptionally strong and sturdy. It is also maintenance-free and does not rust easily due to its chromium layer, which will react with oxygen to form a protective layer that makes stainless steel highly resistant against rust or corrosion.

In addition, stainless steel cables can be used to create an invisible window grille for landed properties or a condominium’s balcony. The steel is stretched across the balcony with brackets installed at one end to form a security feature. Plus, the cables are so thin that they are barely visible from a distance.

Mild steel grilles

Grilles made from mild steel are effortless to maintain as they only need to be wiped with a damp cloth. After all, it is a very strong and durable material that is easy to work with. The best part about mild steel is that it can be used to fabricate grilles with a straight-line design or ornamental designs.

It can also be painted to suit your home aesthetics as it is the most affordable material used for window grilles. Unfortunately, mild steel is prone to corrosion and rust, hence regular painting is required to maintain the grille’s appearance.

Aluminium grilles

Compared to the previous two materials, aluminium grilles are the most lightweight grilles available. They are strong and highly durable against most outdoor weather conditions as they can be powder-coated to maintain their appearance.

Not only that, but aluminium grilles are also easy to maintain and can be cleaned with a damp cloth to remove dust and grime. While it does not rust easily, aluminium grilles are prone to corrosion and discolouration due to oxidation, especially in the presence of salt air.

Iron grilles

Like stainless steel grilles, iron grilles offer exceptional strength but can rust easily in the presence of excessive moisture and humidity. As iron grilles are prone to rust, regular sealing is necessary to keep your window grilles looking great.

However, it can be moulded into any shape to achieve your desired design to give your home a decorative look that never goes out of style. Unfortunately, this increases the cost of installing iron grilles at your window.

With that, you have learned about the most common types of materials used for window grilles. Moving forward, we will discuss the benefits of installing window grilles, especially for those of you who live in high-rise buildings.

  1. Enhances the safety and security of your loved ones

The biggest advantage of installing window grilles is that you get to enhance the safety and security of your loved ones. For instance, you can protect your young children or pets from accidental falls. Besides, it can help to deter burglars or thieves from entering your home.

  1. Enhances the aesthetics of your home

There’s a common thought around window grilles that they are a hindrance rather than a necessary safety feature. While this is untrue, window grilles can be customised based on your needs and preference to fit your home aesthetics. You can also opt for invisible grilles which offer a minimalistic appearance.

  1. Increases the ventilation around your home

If you often leave the windows open for ventilation, having a window grille installed will make your space more secure than having none. As the invisible grille is made of thin stainless steel wires which cannot be moved, cleaning will be quite the hassle. But they provide a permanent safety barrier to your windows and balcony.

Appearance

When choosing a safety grill design, you should also consider its appearance and how it translates to the general decoration of your home. An unpolished aluminium grille will give your home a vintage feel while an invisible grille can give your home a minimalistic appearance.

If you prefer an aluminium grille, know that it will not look great from the inside or outside compared to an invisible grille. This is because the thin stainless steel cables of an invisible grille can appear invisible from a distance. But as you move closer, it becomes a feature that’s hard to miss.

Material durability

In terms of material durability, aluminium and invisible grilles are highly resistant towards corrosion. Aluminium do not rust, but it can corrode over a period of time. Low grade stainless steel can also rust under prolonged exposure to various environmental conditions.

At KLIG, we use high grade 316L stainless steel which is unlikely to rust, even after long period of use. This marine grade stainless steel also has high resistance against corrosion due to its non-porous property.

Cost

When it comes to the cost, both aluminium and invisible grilles tend to be relatively inexpensive. However, aluminium grilles tend to be more long-lasting and resistant to corrosion. Plus, you get to put hangars on the grilles without worrying that it’ll be unstable.

Invisible grilles, on the other hand, may cost slightly more than aluminium grilles due to the amount of work needed to put into their appearance. The overall cost of an invisible grille may also depend on the cost of the stainless steel cables.

Security

As mentioned earlier, safety grilles are designed to keep you and your loved ones safe within the house. Invisible grilles may appear susceptible to breakage but each cable can withstand a maximum tension of 250kg.

Besides, the cables are almost impossible to break using our bare hands, even if they are cut using a normal kitchen scissors. It can only be cut using a professional cable cutter, which is why they can be installed either horizontally or vertically based on your security needs and preferences.

Installation process

Depending on the type of grille you choose, both aluminium and invisible grilles will require professional installation. This is because they both require a certain level of expertise as well as the tools to ensure that every aspect of your safety grille installation is up to par.

Therefore, before you decide on either aluminium or invisible grille to complement and keep your home safe, it is crucial that you consult a professional. They will consider your furniture, your house structure, and the measurement of your window/balcony to come up with a solution and cost estimation for your grille installation.

As such, choosing between aluminium or invisible grille for your home will not be easy. However, you can always refer to the above to simplify your decision-making.If you’re looking to install an invisible safety grille at your place, consider contacting KLIG as we offer a free on-site consultation before you make your decision.
